XXL is proud to introduce the SWD315 Active Stereo Subwoofer. This unit has been designed with just one goal in mind: to provide you with the best quality at an affordable price. The SWD315 is built entirely from birch plywood. Its excellent audio characteristics are ensured by strong construction and resulting rigidity. The SWD315 uses many of our own custom designed premium components. The result is excellent audio performance for any application. The cabinet is finished in durable black semi-matt textured paint, offering protection for regular use under the toughest applications. The SWD315 is provided with a set of removable wheel casters, for easy transportation and setup. The compact D-Class amplifier delivers in excess of 500W to the loudspeaker, thanks to the very high (up to 90%) power conversion efficiency of the D-Class amp and other components. This minimizes the power wasted as heat, which greatly reduces the need for bulky, heavy and expensive heat sinks. The woofer sports a carbon-injected membrane, for maximum rigidity and lowest possible break-up distortion and a 3” aluminium voice coil ensures a very high power handling.
In order to offer a very versatile and simple operation, the input stage can accept either 1/4 “ balanced/unbalanced Jacks or XLRs in its Combo plugs. The crossover point is switchable from 80 to 120Hz, allowing the best match with any satellite speaker. The O/180 Phase switch also helps to solve any potential bass cancellation due to misplacement of the sub. The bass switch offers two EQ choices: the “0dB” position delivers the flattest frequency response, down to the cut-off point of 35Hz. This setting is most suited to playback of acoustic and electric instruments, in both music and theatre applications. The “+6dB” setting delivers a significant increase in the “punch” area, with a peak EQ centered at 70Hz, to offer more energy for the most bass demanding rock and disco applications.
The SWD315 can operate as a mono or stereo sub, connecting one or both inputs. The full range paralleled link outputs allow to lave more units, thus offering a highly versatile, modular and scalable foundation for your sound reinforcement systems.
