The Neumann KM183 Mic Stereo Set In Black. Highly regarded by engineers for its accuracy, detail and high SPL capability. The Neumann KM183 mt Stereo Set is a matched, stereo pair of KM 183 mt omni-directional microphones (black), two Stand mount swivels SG 21/17 mt, two windscreens WNS 100 and a robust wooden storage box. The KM 183 has a slender shape and advanced transmission characteristics that make it especially suitable for a very wide range of tasks in the radio and television sector, as well as recording applications. The KM 183 microphone is the successor of the well proven KM 83, which has been used since the seventies worldwide with great success. The KM 183 is an omni-directional pressure transducer with a boost of approximately 7 dB at 10 kHz in the free field. In the diffuse sound field it has a flat frequency response. Transformerless circuitry and balanced output result in high output gain with a very low noise floor and no colouration to the output signal. The microphone operates without any problems, even if the input of following equipment happens to be unbalanced, for example as in some DAT/CF recorders.

The output of the KM 183, as in all Neumann microphones, is balanced and phantom (48V) powered. The KM 183 mt stereo set is ideal for X,Y (with cardioid mic and baffle plate) stereo miking, ambiance miking or spot miking instruments such as piano, wind instruments organ and choir.

    • Set includes: 2 x Microphone KM 183, 2 x Stand mount swivel SG 21/17 mt, 2 x Windscreen WNS 100, Wooden box
    • Trouble-free operation also with unbalanced equipment (e.g. DAT/CF recorders)
    • Set includes windshield and two different microphone clamps
    • For close miking of instruments when there is no need to attenuate extraneous noise, and in a balanced acoustic environment to record acoustic guitar, wind instruments, strings, percussion, drums
    • Ideal as AB stereo pair because of the flat frequency response in the diffuse sound field
    • As a main mic, especially for capturing room acoustics For stereo recordings with a baffle plate
    • As a spot mic for piano, wind instruments, organ, choir
