The DR-40XP is designed for capturing professional quality recordings for music, audio-for-video, meetings, dictation, and more. It features 32-bit float recording with up to 96kHz sample rate for low-noise, distortion-free audio, and supports microSDXC cards up to 512GB. Two adjustable unidirectional stereo condenser microphones switch between A/B and X/Y configurations, complemented by two XLR/TRS inputs for 4-channel simultaneous recording. TASCAM's HDDA mic preamps deliver an EIN of −126dBu. A USB-C port enables use as a 2-in/2-out audio interface with Windows, Mac, and iOS. Additional features include a built-in chromatic tuner, reverb effect, low-cut filters, Auto Tone output for video sync, tripod mount, and up to 18 hours of battery life using the built-in microphones.
